Scheduled for release in early December, 'Holding Space' presents a new and exciting direction for Robert's music. Five of the 12 tunes feature Robert's familiar gentle, jazzy, piano playing and his reemergence as a vocalist. The listener will sense more of a pop feel (reminiscent of early Billy Joel, Bruce Hornsby, and Michael Franks). Some of the remaining tunes offer more of a jazz/fusion feel with a sound that reminds one of the early days of The Pat Metheny Group while other more tender moments bring to mind George Winston and Peter Kater.

"Thomas' latest album takes inspiration from the scenic vistas of the Appalachians in much the same way that pianist and composer George Winston has found inspiration from different times of the year." Robert's debut CD, Full Circle, was released in December, 1999. A highly cohesive blend of New Age and Jazz, which the Mountain Times proclaimed, "...more provocative than much of what is labeled New Age... The effect is beguiling."
